"Lilyrael Galain" - Elder Scrolls Commission

This was a commission for a friend that plays Elder Scrolls Online! They wanted a stand-alone piece featuring their character and the ancient Falmeri architecture in the background. They saw a previous piece I did with stained glass and wanted something of a similar effect. Where the glass and background hinted more at the character's story rather than the character itself.

The character is a priestess of Auri-El, an aspect of Auriel worshipped by the ancient snow elves (falmer) in their prime. With that in mind, I created a custom stained glass design for the archway featuring Auri-El's symbol with the glass rotating outward like a sun. The most entertaining part was the light refracting from the glass and onto the ground, refracting moreso courtesy of the snow. It was fun to play around with the chromatic aberration tool for that.

I'm not one who does structures and buildings often so this piece was pretty good practice for that.

Personal favorite was how the intact part of the stained-glass window came out.

I also included a version without the background to really show the character more.

The spear was my favorite part to render. It came out so clean.
